Hong Kong: Day 1

Today was the first day we were able to go out and about to tour Hong Kong. We met Dr. Lum downstairs in the lobby area along with the rest of the group. We were introduced to a friend of Dr. Lum who has been gracious enough to help us out throughout the trip by guiding us through the city!

We were treated to a delicious breakfast of dim sum. We learned dim sum is not a specific type of food but a style of Chinese food prepared as small sized portions. Some are served in steamed baskets or small plates. Dim sum is also  eaten with tea!

We were greeted by wonderful friends of Dr. Lum, who accompanied us on our visit to the Hong Kong Museum of History. We learned about The History and Culture of Hong Kong: Educational Perspectives.
Check out some pictures!

Welcome to Hong Kong

I have made it to Hong Kong safe and soundly! My flight from Newark to Hong Kong was very long but well worth it! I cannot wait to attend the various activities planned for the group, especially when we are able to enter the classrooms.

As the plane landed, I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear because I was still in disbelief that I was across the world, ready to begin a journey I would never forget. I eagerly rose from my seat after a 15 hour plane ride, grabbed my carry-on and thanked the flight attendants for their excellent service. I made my way through immigration, found my bags and made my way to the hotel-shuttle service counter. I was happy to run into two classmates who are in the same program!

While I was on the shuttle bus-on my way to the hotel-I looked forward to the scenery I would be viewing at night. Already I could see how beautiful the city looked! Check it out!
Pictures I take on my camera will be uploaded soon!

We arrived to our hotel safe and in time to grab a bite to eat and hit the sack!
In anticipation to what tomorrow will bring us!
Jo-tao! (Good night!)
